IN MEMORIAM

Phil Williams
26/07/1954 - 22/08/2014

unforgettable character and a kind and considerate colleague

Phil grew up in Hanslope and joined the FCO as an apprentice in 1972. During the 1970’s he was assigned to Tempest testing at Great Marlboro Street and then at a radio transmission station in Gawcott, Bucks. Later, from 1995-98, he was posted in Nairobi and had travelled to over 50 countries on installations. In a career which spanned 42 years, Phil was heavily involved in work on protective systems. After the creation of the Technical Services Centre he became Production Manager, then Resource Development Manager, overseeing the workshops in building 15.

Phil was an unforgettable character and a kind and considerate colleague to many across the organisation. He was passionate and dedicated to his work, and his positive attitude will be sorely missed.
