Bridge to Bridge 200 mile run
200 Mile Run in Memory of Grandmother
Eliott Spencer, a passionate endurance runner and business owner, is taking on the extraordinary challenge of running over 200 miles – the equivalent of 8 marathons – in just 6 days in memory of his late grandmother who died of kidney cancer.
From 23rd September to 28th September 2024, Eliott is running from the iconic Humber Bridge to London Bridge, to raise awareness and funds for Kidney Cancer UK.
This monumental effort is deeply personal for Eliott. His beloved grandmother tragically passed away from kidney cancer, and his best friend was diagnosed with the same disease in 2023, undergoing surgery to remove one of his kidneys. In a show of solidarity, he will join Eliott for part of the challenge, adding further emotional significance to this incredible fundraising endeavour.
The aim of Eliott’s run has two parts: to raise crucial funds for Kidney Cancer UK and to raise awareness about kidney cancer, a disease that affects thousands of families each year. Every step Eliott takes will highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, as well as the support needed for those battling the disease.
Route & Support: Eliott’s route will take him through many towns and cities, offering plenty of opportunities for people to come out and join in the run or simply cheer him on. Details of his planned route will be published on Kidney Cancer UK’s social media channels, where supporters can track his progress in real time.
Eliott encourages everyone to get involved: “This challenge is incredibly close to my heart, and I’m running in memory of my grandmother and in honour of my best friend as well as for all of those affected by kidney cancer. I’d love for as many people as possible to come out and support us along the way whether that’s by cheering us on, running a few miles with me, or donating as much or as little as you can through my JustGiving page.”
How to Help: To support Eliott’s campaign and Kidney Cancer UK, donations can be made via Eliott’s JustGiving page plus, you can follow along with updates on their social media pages.
