The Cotterill’s are an amazing family and although the wonderful Steve has passed on he leaves his legacy in his beautiful wife, Karen and his exceptional son, Alex. They have been remarkable in their compassionate manner towards others while managing the unexpected passing of their loved one, Steve with such dignity and composure. We share your pain and your loss and will be here for you both always. Lots of love. Robina and family xx

What can I say about Steve.
Taken far too young leaving behind his wife Karen and son Alex.
Steve was a brilliant father and mentor to Alex .
Steve was always there, always in the background, never one to be in the limelight.
Shine bright Steve, another diamond in the sky. ❤

Smiling when I think of Steve and all those taxi drives home where he sat patiently listening to our drunken nonsense. He never moaned once even when he had to clean his taxi the next day. RIP Steve. Sending lots of love to Karen and Alex x

I didn’t know Steve personally but know his family who are close friends of my Nieces Janet and Marie and my sister Edna Ward … I also knew Steve’s Mother in Law who came to visit me in Wales with my sister … she spoke highly of Steve and said what a laid back nice person he was … This also came across from my nieces … I follow Karen on Face book and feel I have got to know them even more closely and love the photo’s … My heart goes out to Karen and Alex at this sad time they have dealt with it with such dignity … I am only too happy to donate to this cause … My prayers are with them both … Love Kath Copeland xx

Will miss my lovely brother in law Steve loads. I have known him since I was about 17 years old and will miss his lovely laid back and inoffensive nature. He adored Alex and was so proud of what a lovely lad he had grown up to be.
My mam loved him loads and I know you two will be looking after each other up there.
Rest In Peace Steve, lots of love Amanda, Keith and Chloe xxx

We will really miss our lovely laid back brother-in-law Steve. He was so proud or our Alex and his achievements and couldn’t love him anymore than he did.
Paul has know Steve since he was 15 and shared some of the best time with him going to the Match. And watching Utd win trophies together. I have known Steve since I met Paul some 22 years ago. He will have been pleased that he got to watch Utd win the last Derby but will be annoyed he didn’t get the chance to rib me and Keith about it.
    Rest In Peace Steve

    All our Love

Sue and I only met Steve once, but know what a lovely man he was. Sending all our love to Karen and Alex. If Alex is any reflection of Steve, the world is a very fortunate place.

Steve, we’ll never forget you playing a brilliant air guitar to Meat Loaf on New Year’s eve, or Karen’s face when you fell head first into her ‘designer’ Christmas tree. You were an expert on French Red wine, Manchester Red football, and politics of all colours. You were a top bloke, and we’ll miss your humour, intelligence and compassion. Much love to Karen and Alex, we’re both thinking of you at this sad time. Lots of love, Brett and Stella xx

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Steve just once.. I wish it’d been more. Karen and I had met for drinks after work one night in town a couple of winters ago… time flew by as did the many bottles of wine whilst we were catching up and it was only at closing time we realised we hadn’t even see it snow ❄️ and god had it snowed ❄️❄️❄️ but Steve (and Alex) cane to the rescue and picked us up.. we had such a giggle all the way home.. I remember sitting in the back of the car and thinking to myself good god Steve’s going to think I’m nuts.. he’d have been so within his rights to think that,. I was chatting complete and utter bollocks

Very grateful for that night, for him rescuing us and for giving me the chance to get to know the man who made my friend, the biggest hearted person I know, very happy all these years.

Much love to you Steve – our knight in shining armour ❤️

RIP Steve. Such a chilled, cool guy with plenty of knowledge on everything (especially football). Absolute pleasure to have known him and appreciate all the lifts he gave me and Alex over the years whenever we wanted to go Nandos or town or the failed attempt in going to a United match LOL. He will forever be a legend.

Sending my love to Alex and Karen, you will both get through this.

    Raj x
